“AI is not replacing human insight, it’s helping us frame it in a different way.” – Dr Lollie Mancey, Anthropologist and AI Ethicist

Dr Lollie Mancey is a specialist in anthropology and innovation education. A futurist by nature, her work focuses on the changing cultural landscape in Ireland, including how this is shaped by technology. Dr Mancey believes AI is driving the next phase of the cognitive revolution.

Dr Mancey says that in order to thrive in this changing landscape, individuals need a critical thinking mindset, something she encourages her students, the next generation of innovators, to cultivate.

“Adopt a playful, critical, curious mindset,” Dr Mancey advises. “It’s not replacing human insight, it’s helping us frame it in a different way.”

The key is to explore the ways in which AI can enhance human potential rather than replace it.

“What’s going to excite and delight your customers?” she asks. “Is it a chatbot? Probably not. Putting an AI solution in where a human could be isn’t always advantageous,” she concludes.

Business leaders need to be strategic as to how AI can support their goals. “The answer is not just to sprinkle some AI on it and make it happen,” she says. “It’s got to work in designated areas… It’s got to benefit you, but also keep you productive and keep you working and at the top of your game.”

Transparency and ethical use of AI is also important to maintain trust with customers and ensure that businesses are putting systems in place that will work in the long term. “I think it’s really important to differentiate between the fact that ethical AI isn’t just a nice thing to have. It’s a business imperative.”

A big fan of using AI in her own work, Dr Mancey outlines its benefits and encourages other business leaders to start small, looking at how they can adopt the growing range of available technologies.

“In my writing, it helps me refine ideas, structure arguments, pushes my creativity, sometimes gets me off a blank page. It frees up my cognitive space for deeper, more strategic thinking.”

As a third-level educator who specialises in future studies, Dr Mancey highlights that the education system is struggling to keep pace with the progress of new technologies and their ethical implementation. This has a knock-on effect in the workplace, where skills gaps and a reluctance to evolve could mean Irish companies fall behind.

“Future proofing, ethical decision-making, and responsible AI integration are all the relevant skills coming from education into business,” Dr. Mancey says.

Now is a critical moment, and we have the power to harness this change. Upskilling the next generation could be the solution to bridging this knowledge gap so that Irish companies can lead and innovate in the space. Dr Mancey says there are opportunities to expand AI learning in the workplace as well as in higher education.

“It’s not about working faster, it’s about working smarter,” Dr Mancey says, echoing the phrase that has become the mantra of the digital revolution. This is just the next phase.

Dr Mancey’s advice to business leaders can be summed up in five simple points:

As a young hedge fund analyst turned FBI informant, he takes audiences behind the scenes of high-stakes decision-making, ethical dilemmas, and corporate risk. He helps organizations recognize and navigate those grey areas before they become costly mistakes. Tom provides practical strategies for mitigating risk, and fostering a culture of integrity in high-pressure environments. He offers a rare, insider perspective on how even well-intentioned professionals can cross ethical lines, leaving audiences with actionable insights and making them more aware of unconscious biases, external pressures, and the real-world consequences of ethical lapses.

He previously spent much of his career as a financial analyst in the U.S. In 2008, as part of a cooperation agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, Tom assisted the U.S. government in understanding how insider trading occurred in the financial services industry.

Known as “Tipper X,” Tom became one of the most prolific informants in securities fraud history, helping to build over 20 of the 80+ individual criminal cases in “Operation Perfect Hedge,” a Wall Street house cleaning campaign that morphed into the largest insider trading investigation of a generation. As the youngest professional implicated in the sting, Tom was tasked with wearing a covert body wire on over 40 occasions to help the FBI bring down some of its biggest targets in the industry.

In a reunion of sorts, Tom was invited by the FBI-NYC’s office to speak to their rookie agents in 2016 and is now a global keynote speaker, corporate trainer and board advisor on behavioral ethics, compliance and organizational conduct and culture risk. Through rigorous self-examination, Tom took responsibility for his actions as a young professional, used the experience to transform his life and is now on an on-going journey into human behavior and why we sometimes make the wrong decision.

Tom holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Tom’s riveting life story is the subject of his forthcoming book Wired on Wall Street, will be released in February 2026.

The Inside Story of Tipper X

Prepare to be captivated, transported, and utterly mesmerized by Tom’s spellbinding tale of greed, corruption, and redemption. Tom leads audiences on an unforgettable journey down the treacherous path of criminal activity and its devastating impact.

Through the power of vivid storytelling, Tom reveals the insidious psychological traps that ensnared him, pulling him deeper and deeper into a spiral of rationalization until he had lost all sense of right and wrong. His harrowing tale is a reflection on the seductive allure of short-term decisions made in isolation, and the all-consuming desire for status that lures so many young professionals down the same treacherous path.

As Tom shares his experience, his words resonate with an electrifying force that leaves audiences both spellbound and enlightened. From the smallest, seemingly insignificant decisions to the life-altering consequences of crossing the line between questionable and illegal, Tom’s cautionary tale is a poignant reminder of the high cost of surrendering to temptation.

As the story unfolds, audiences are swept up in a whirlwind of suspense and heartbreak, as Tom’s career, and his life, hang in the balance. Yet, even in the depths of despair, he finds a glimmer of hope, a higher purpose that ultimately leads him towards redemption.

Prepare to be amazed and inspired by Tom’s extraordinary story. His words are a clarion call to all who would walk the same perilous path, a warning of the dangers that lurk in the shadows of ambition, and a reminder that, in the end, it is our choices that define us.

Described as “a rare polymath with deep expertise in tech and psychology”, Nathalie draws upon a rich background in human behaviour, web design and the arts, to offer a unique vantage point from which to examine the complex challenges we face today. Having studied psychology and worked as a web designer early in her career, she wanted to map out a comprehensive framework through which to understand online behaviour – a process that culminated in the publication of the international best-seller, Webs Of Influence: The Psychology of Online Persuasion (Pearson).

Adopted as the go-to manual by business leaders and universities alike, Webs Of Influence has been translated into 7 languages, and alongside her new book, Business Unusual: Values, Uncertainty and the Psychology of Brand Resilience, serves as the cornerstone for Nathalie’s work with clients including Google, Accenture, Unilever and Harvard Business Review, among others.

A popular speaker, consultant and facilitator to Fortune 500 companies, Nathalie has lectured at some of the world’s most prestigious institutions (from Cambridge and UCL universities, to Lund and Hult business schools), and her experience as a skilled communicator has seen her present at SXSW, host the Guardian Changing Media Summit and hold main stage interviews at the Web Summit.

Whether speaking to audiences of thousands, or leading executive roundtables for private clients, Nathalie’s ability to ignite conversation and offer tools and strategies with which to harness human potential, has helped countless organisations transform how they approach business.

From ethics and human behaviour to persuasive tech and what it means to be human in an age of AI, Nathalie addresses the specific challenges faced by larger, more diverse brands and organisations today, including: how to adapt to AI and automation, the psychological dynamics behind evolving consumer behaviours, the challenges of engaging millennials and Gen Z, how to harness self-determination, the move towards eudaimonic well-being, the role of social identity in social media, identifying and expressing values with coherence, ethics and integrity, resonant communication and marketing, brand resilience and reputation, and how to ethically apply behavioural science principles to enhance your platforms, content marketing, product design and customer experience.

Whether you’re looking to communicate more resonantly, engage people more persuasively or create cultures of integrity that better attract and retain both employees and customers, Nathalie’s insightful, actionable keynotes and workshops offer a robust roadmap to help you navigate uncertainty with greater skill and success.

A behavioural science advisor, Nathalie also hosts In Conversation with Nathalie Nahai, Guardian podcasts, and contributes to national publications, television and radio on the impact of technology in our lives. A guest lecturer on the “Transversal vision of artificial intelligence” for ELISAVA’s Masters programme in Human Interaction and AI, Nathalie is also the founder of Flourishing Futures Salon – intimate, curated evenings where 12 strangers gather over locally sourced food and wine to explore how we might orient towards life, beauty and meaning in difficult times.

What sets Rachel’s talks apart is not just her expertise, but how she makes people feel: inspired, curious, and empowered to rethink how they lead and work.

Topics

#1: Leading with Trust in Uncertain Times

When the world feels complex and fast-moving, trust becomes a powerful source of clarity and confidence. It gives people the courage to take smart risks, collaborate across teams, and lean into change instead of resisting it. Yet despite how often we use the word, trust is still clouded by myths. In this keynote, Rachel deconstructs those misconceptions and invites audiences to rethink trust as something they can actively shape. With her ‘Risk–Trust Lens’ framework, she shows why the balance between risk and trust is the hallmark of adaptive leadership and shares practical tools leaders can use to build cultures where people feel safe, supported, and ready to step into the unknown.

Participants will learn:

• Why trust is the foundation of resilience in uncertain times.
• How to use the ‘Risk–Trust Lens’ to make smarter decisions under pressure.
• The four traits every leader must consistently demonstrate to earn trust.
• Why cultures built on trust consistently outperform those built on control.

#2: Trust by Design: What Makes Innovation Stick

Why do some innovations fail while others succeed? The difference is rarely the technology; it is whether people trust it enough to make the leap. Every breakthrough depends on what Rachel calls a Trust Leap: the decision to embrace a new way of working, creating, or connecting. Yet too often, innovators obsess over features and functions and overlook the trust conditions that trulydetermine adoption. Drawing on 15 years of work with Fortune 500 companies and startups, Rachel
shares her ‘Trust Leap’ framework, showing why designing for trust is as essential as designing for usability or beauty. Through stories that span from historical inventions to today’s disruptivestart-ups, she reveals how trust is the hidden design layer that allows ideas to take root and grow.

Participants will learn:

• Why trust is the bridge that makes people willing to take risks on new ideas.
• The design principles that encourage people to make a ‘Trust Leap.’
• How to identify and close the trust gaps that quietly block adoption.

#3: Rethinking the New Rules of Trust & AI

AI is rapidly reshaping how we make decisions, create, work, and even trust one another. But here is
the challenge: most of the questions about trust and AI are framed incorrectly. The real issue is
not whether people should trust AI, but how we design AI systems to be genuinely trustworthy.
Rachel uses her ‘Trust Shift’ framework to show how every major leap in history has required new
forms of trust, and why AI marks a fundamentally different moment that forces us to rethink the
rules altogether.

Participants will learn:
• Why the real question is not “should we trust AI?” but “when is it trustworthy?”
• The challenges and possibilities of shifting trust from people to intelligent systems.
• How the AI Trust Matrix reveals where different systems stand on trustworthiness.
• The four dimensions that determine whether an AI system earns or loses confidence.
